Erythrocytes.
Transport oxygen and carbon dioxide within the body. They have no nucleus. They are small and flexible allowing them to enter the capillaries.
Leucocytes.
Detect abnormal material and destroy them.
Lymphocytes.
B-cells produce anti-bodies to destroy antigens.
T-cells destroy the bodies cells if they have been taken over by viruses.
Neutrophils.
Protect the body against bacterial infection.
Monocytes.
When certain germs enter the body, they rush to the site quickly in order to attach the foreign germ in the body.
Platelets.
Help to form blood clots by clumping together, in order to stop bleeding.
Plasma.
Provides transport for the glucose, lipids, amino acids, hormones, food molecules, carbon dioxide and oxygen. Helps with temperature regulation of the body.
