Erythrocytes
A
Red blood cells, made in the bone marrow.
Thin, disc like shape.
They are red because of haemoglobin.

Leucocytes.
A
White blood cells that defend from infection.

Lymphocytes.
A
Two types; T cells & B cells.
B-cells develop in the bone marrow.
T-cells develop in the thymus gland.

Neutrophils.
A
Small and fast cells, first cell to travel to the site of an infection.

Monocytes.
A
Largest of the white blood cells.

Platelets.
A
Produced in the bone marrow, and are fragments of other cells.

Plasma.
A
Largest component of blood, makes up 55% of blood volume.
Clear/yellow liquid, it carries platelets, red and white blood cells and proteins.
