A

-in modern society those who create and distribute wealth deserve more rewards
-wc has shrunk but is still largest social class
-move from traditional to new wc due to social mobility
-new wc have greater affluence so get better cars etc.
-Goldthorpe- Embourgeoisement: studied affluent workers in Luton who worked as car workers; had high earnings. class conscious: little social mixings . normative differences: affluent workers less committed to traditional workers to trade unions and labour party
