Educations is good as it bridges the gap between the social institutions of family and education. Creates a universalist and particularistic standards where society is a meritocracy.
Davis and Moore
Selected role allocation: they explain that inequality is necessary for people to be filtered into jobs best suited to their skill set. They also came up with new vocalisation where there are skill courses to squire job specific skills.
Shultz
Human Capital: helps maintain societal stability and is good for the wider economy. Shultz said that we all have a specialist knowledge which is good for the division of labour as people end up in jobs which match their skill set.
Durkheim
The social institution of education is good as it passes down ideologies as well as creating a value consensus ( social cohesion - where society works together)
