Q

What is the difference between an isotype and an idiotype?

A
Isotype = classified by the heavy chain, determines what kind of IR will occur (eg. IgM, IgG, IgE are different isotypes)
Idiotype = changes in the AA sequence throughout the variable regions of heavy and light chains (ie the different shapes you put on the end of your Y looking diagram)
