Fun Facts Flashcards
Oxygen
O2 boils at -297.3 F / -183 C at 1 atm
1 L of liquid O2 = 862 L of gas O2 at 1 atm
Nitrous Oxide
Banks of G or H cylinders with automatic switching & notification to engineering for replacement.
Highest pressure cylinders supply the pipeline at all times (switch from bank to bank)
Intermediate Pressure
37-55psi
Secondary Pressure Regulator
Reduce intermediate pressure to low pressure (20PSI O2, 38PSI N2O)
Machine In the Standby Position:
No gas can flow to the patient
No electrical power goes to the ventilator, display or CPU
O2 flush is still available provided O2 supply is connected
Electrical outlets are still active
Battery will recharge
Machine is On
Oxygen is allowed to flow from the Main Output Manifold to the oxygen flowmeter
Air is allowed to flow from the Main Output Manifold to the Air flowmeter
Electricity flows to the components of the machine requiring electrical power, such as the ventilator, the display, & the CPU
Link-25 Proportioning System
14 Tooth Sprocket on N2O
29 tooth sprocket on O2
When O2 concentration reaches 25% a pin on the O2 sprocket engages the chain.
This is a pneumatic and mechanical control.
