Every person has the ability to achieve their goals, wishes and desires in life.
If so self actualisation has taken place.
Who is a fully functioning person
Somebody who can be in touch with the here and now, their objectives, experiences and feelings while continually growing and changing.
Fully functioning person is ideal.
People may not achieve it.
Process of becoming or changing.

Creativity
Creative thinking and risk taking are parts of the persons life. Don’t only play it safe the whole time. Ability to readjust, change and seek new experiences.
Trust feelings:
Feelings, instincts and gut reactions are paid attention to and trusted.
People’s own decisions are the right ones.
Need to trust our own decision making.
Young people often trust themselves too much.
Become disappointed when unable to met situations head on.
Work with clients to help the, trust staff and other people around the, and how to turn to other people on times of need.
Existential living?
Involves being in touch with different experience as they occur in their lives, avoiding prejudices and preconceptions.
Being able to live and fully appreciate the present.
Open to experiences
Both positive and negitative emotions are accepted.
Negitative feelings are not denied.
But worked through.
Seen when working with clients whose behAviours are challenging, this client is unable to work through their emotions.
Tend to store negative emotions and then when anger or confrontation occurs they are unable to cope and end up exploding with anger.
We need to work by helping our clients to deal in situations which may be challenging and helping them overcome difficult emotions.

Well balanced

High achievers in society.
Criticisms
Fully functioning people is a product of the western culture. Eastern European the achievement of the group is valued more highly than the achievement of any one person
