Fuel System Flashcards
How are fuselage tank fuel quantity gauges powered?
AC power. If AC power is lost, they will continue to show the amount of fuel at the time of the power loss.
What is the function of the motive flow valve (ejector pump)?
To transfer fuel within the fuselage tanks to keep the collector cells at a proper level.
When do the FWD and AFT FUEL LOW LEVEL caution lights illuminate?
75 and 110 lbs respectively
What indications will result from pushing the fuel quantity gauge test button?
The gauge needles will fall to zero and then return to actual fuel quantity when the button is released. Note that this only tests the calibration of the indicators, not the function or calibration of the fuel quantity probes.
What is the sequence of fuel with the fuel selector in the NORM position?
AFT tank to left engine, FWD tank to right engine
If the AFT and FWD low level lights come on at the same time (not a fuel transfer failure) how much time will you have at max continuous power before the engines flame out?
12 and 17 minutes respectively
What will cause auto changeover from Boost Pump 1 to Boost Pump 2?
If the fuel pressure downstream of the boost pump drops below 2 psi
If boost pump 1 and it’s associated pressure switch both fail, what may happen as a result?
Auto changover to boost pump will occur normally.
By pressing the boost pump switch down to the test position, what are you simulating?
Failure of #1 boost pump
