Fuel System Flashcards
Where are the fuel quantities displayed?
EICAS and Fuel synoptic
Where is the fuel temperature displayed?
EICAS and Fuel synoptic display. Synoptic also shows fuel minimum temperature.
Do the centre pumps produce the same pressure as the main tank pumps?
Override/Jettison pumps in centre tank have a higher output pressure.
With all tanks full and all pumps operating, which tank supplies the engines?
Centre tank
From which tanks can fuel be jettisoned?
All tanks
Where can jettison time be observed?
Fuel synoptic display only.
On the ground during start, how many tank pumps will operate with only one electrical power source?
Only LEFT AFT fuel pump will operate with APU running. During starting of right engine, RIGHT AFT pump will energize.
What is indicated if the crossfeed switch VALVE light remains illuminated after selection during manual operation?
Crossfeed valve is in transit, failed in the shutoff position. Fuel manifolds are not connected.
Where can the fuel freezing temperature be entered?
CDU, “PERF INIT” page
What will happen as actual fuel temperature approaches the preset fuel freeze temperature?
EICAS indication and indication on fuel synoptic page turns amber.
Is the engine or aircraft operation affected with a tank pump OFF?
No, a single pump is sufficient to operate the engine under all conditions.
If a main tank fuel pump fails, will selecting the pump switch off remove the EICAS message and pump PRESS light?
No
Which tank is the DC fuel pump in?
Left main tank
When does the DC fuel pump operate?
With the APU switch on and no AC power available.
If operating, what will cause automatic shutdown of the DC fuel pump?
When AC power becomes available.
