Fuel System Flashcards
Maximum usable fuel
402 USG
2704 LBS
1521,5 L
At what temperature and below prist is mandatory
0 degrees
what are fuel vents for?
Maintaining internal pressure between -0.2 and 2,0 PSI
Below what pressure does the caw’s light up?
Below 2 PSI
First fuel filter
If the fuel filter is blocked, at what pressure will the fuel filter be bypassed?
And what will be the indication of the bypass
8 PSI
A red button will extend in the event of a filter bypass
After passing through the air separator, the vapours are returned to the ______ ?
A vent line, with integral check valve, carries the vapors to the FCU spill return line trough which they are returned to the main fuel tanks
What output pressure the low pressure EDP maintain ?
The pumps maintain 43.5 PSI outlet pressure , fuel in excess return to the inlet side and will be used to create motive flow
Can the system work without the low pressure pumps?
Yes, an integral bypass valve allows fuel under boost pump pressure to bypass the low pressure pump during engine stars or in event of L EDP failure
Oil and fuel , heat exchanger
Does the system manage the amount of fuel passing through the system or the amount of oil passing through the system?
Amount of oil passing through the system, and it’s controlled by a sliding valve and a thermal element
Oil and fuel , heat exchanger
At what temperature does the valve start to close to let less oil through, and fully close at what temperature?
Begins to close at 21°C and fully close a 37 °C
what’s the name of the system that prevents fuel from transferring from the collector tank to the main tanks?
Flapper-type check valve
At what fuel level will the caw’s Light {LOW FUEL} light up?
Less than 20 USG
Or
75 liters
how many fuel sensors are in the system?
4 sensors each wing
Fuel system Operational summary
During normal operation with the engine running, each transfer jet pump transfer fuel from its respective main tank to a corresponding collector tank. From each collector tank, fuel is delivered to a common manifold by its associated delivery jet pump. (The transfer jet pump and delivery jet pumps are operated by motive flow)
From the manifold, fuel passes through the maintenance shut-off valve, fuel filter, air separator, and the firewall shutoff valve en route to the low pressure engine driven pump. From the L EDP , fuel is then routed through the oil-to-fuel heat exchanger and directed to the high pressure engine-driven pump which further increase fuel pressure and supplies the FCU
