A

Each tank has a low-level thermistor sensor that is only exposed when the tank is empty. Thus sending a signal to the cockpit.

What does an AUTO FUEL XFER FAULT caution mean?

A

This indicates a lack of fuel transfer from the aux tank(s) to the main tank(s). A lack of fuel may be caused due to a failed closed transfer valve, both transfer/dump pumps inop, FMCP control failure, or a blockage in the associated fuel lines. *FUEL may be unavailable

Monitor the fuel quantity gauges closely. If difference in cell quantities persists, stop transferring fuel before right cell is full ~1700lbs

A

A

What does the master switch on the FMCP in stop flow mean?

A

Removes power from all fuel management panel switches, disables control logic and stops auxiliary fuel system control, which closes all external tank shutoff valves. The system will resume normal completion of the last operation when the master switch is returned to its prior position.

What happens when the fuel level in one of the fuel cells reaches 300 pounds.

A

The #1/#2 FUEL LOW caution appears and the associated digital fuel readouts on the mission and flight displays turn yellow. When total fuel reaches 600 pounds, the total fuel display also turns yellow. These cautions may illuminate and extinguish as fuel washes on and off the sensors.

In order to minimize crew desensitization when fuel washes on and off the sensors, that master caution will be displayed when a fuel low condition is detected for a period of greater than 5 seconds and deactivated when not detected for 20 seconds.

A

No. Helicopter prime/boost pump capacity is not sufficient to prime an engine when the opposite engine is running. Engines should be primed individually with both engines off.

A

Each is spring loaded to the center position which provides power to the precheck valves in the main fuel tanks.

When moved to A or B, power to the respective precheck valve is interrupted, fuel flow during refueling is stopped, and fuel flow indication on the FMCP flow lights will go out.

Any order/path of least resistance. This is an issue if your aux xfer is inop, you could end up with fuel in your aux that is dead weight on the aircraft. Getting warm gas allows the normal main-right-left refueling to take place.
