Fuel Flashcards
W/o ER Total fuel
ER Total fuel
180,800 lbs
244,600 lbs
Gravity/suction feed capability
Up to 10,000 ft with all engines in MAX
When are transfer pumps uncovered?
O/b. 12,000 lbs
I/b 28,000 lbs
ER. When is auto transfer inhibited?
When the associated FILL valve is open.
When the FIRE handle is pulled.
What fuel state generates FUEL QTY X on WAP?
LOW FUEL?
4,000 lbs
16,000 lbs on totalizer
Why do we check the FUEL QTY CHAN SEL?
Because a single channel failure is not indicated unless the selector switch is moved to the failed channel.
What’s the difference between fuel management and scheduling?
Management is inboard to outboard tanks.
Scheduling is aft inboard to forward inboard.
If Fuel has to gravity feed from the ER tanks, how much fuel is trapped in each of the four ER tanks?
1,000 lbs
Max fuel dump rate?
6,700 lbs per min.
Fuel dump altitude restriction?
Fuel dump above 20,000 feet may cause engine flameout due to loss of fuel pressure.
What hydraulic system powers OBIGGS?
2 for left compressor
3 for right compressor
How do you determine OBIGGS vs. OBIGGSII?
OBIGGS. Inert to alt
OBIGGSII. Time to inert.
How to charge OBIGGS from the APU?
APU SOV open
APU SUPPLY Sw at mx monitor panel open
OBIGGS On
L and R Packs On
AUX pumps 2 & 3 On.
Does the APU SUPPLY switch on the mx mon panel effect OBIGGS charging if the engines are running?
Yes, neither will charge in this config.
How can you see OBIGGS pressure?
Press the OBIGGS PRESS button on the mx mon pnl.
