Two LOW PRESSURE lights illuminated in the same tank illuminate MASTER CAUTION and FUEL system annunciator lights. One LOW PRESSURE light causes MASTER CAUTION and FUEL system annunciator lights to illuminate only on MASTER CAUTION recall.
With the CTR tank FUEL PUMP switches ON, continuous LOW PRESSURE lights for 10 seconds illuminates MASTER CAUTION and FUEL system annunciator lights.
With one CTR tank FUEL pump OFF, illumination of opposition CTR tank LOW PRESSURE light illuminates the MASTER CAUTION and FUEL system annunciator lights.
When does the fuel IMBAL indication illuminate?
Main tanks differ by more than 1000 pounds
When changing the position of the crossfeed switch, which indication should you see with the light?
Blue light illuminates BRIGHT then DIM when moving the switch from Close to Open. Blue light illuminates BRIGHT then extinguishes when moving the switch from open to close

A fuel imbalance under some circumstances does require immediate notification along with a logbook entry. an unscheduled MX inspection is also required.
What are the primary reasons to avoid fuel imbalance?
STructural life of the airframe and landing gear, not controllability
What is the risk of routine fuel balancing when not near the imbalance limit?
Pilot errors and not identifying a fuel leak in a timely manner
When does the captain declare minimum fuel?
When having committed to a specific airport, it is determined that any change to the existing clearance to that airport may results with a landing below the greater of:
1. 4000 lbs
OR
2. Planned Final Reserve Fuel
“committed to a specific airport” implies that the captain intends to continue to that specific airport for landing (could be destination, alternate, or any airport added due to changing circumstances)
When does the Captain declare Emergency Fuel?
The calculated useable fuel upon landing at the nearest airport where a landing can be made will be less than Planned Final Reserve Fuel
a low fuel state requires immediate traffic priority
What does the FUEL FLOW alert indicate (MAX only)
The engine fuel flow is abnormally high when compared to the FMC expected fuel flow. The message is displayed independently for each engine
What does the illumination of fuel FILTER BYPASS light indicate?
An impending or actual fuel filter bypass due to a contaminated filter
What is the primary concern with a Fuel FILTER BYPASS light is illuminated?
Engine Flameout may occur.
What does the INSUFFICIENT FUEL alert on the engine display and the MCDU scratchpad indicate in the MAX? How would the NG aircraft display the alert?
FMC fuel at the destination is predicted to be less than 2000 lbs
NG aircraft would only display INSUFFICIENT FUEL in the scratchpad of the MCDU
