Q

What is the significance of the small white bug (sharks tooth) on the PFD Airspeed Indicator During takeoff? Approach?

A

Takeoff= v2 +15

Approach = -700 Vref + 15
Approach= -800/8MAX= vref+20

Q

ON TAKEOFF what is the minimum speed for flap retraction?

A

Normally, the initial flap retraction will be made at V2 plus 20. V2 plus 15 is the minimum speed required for flap retraction except for a FLAPS 1 takeoff. For a flap 1 takeoff, begin flap retraction when reaching the flaps 1 maneuvering speed

limit bank angle to 15 degrees unitl reaching V2 plus 15

Q

In the NG, what is the difference between a CDS MAINT alert and CDS FAULT altert?

A

CDS MAINT (WHITE)- dispatchable CDS fault has occurred. Displayed on the ground only, prior to start of the second engine

CDS FAULT (Amber)- a non dispatch able CDS fault has occurred. Video is reversed and displayed on the ground only, prior to the start of the second engine

Q

What does a NG DSPLAY SOURCE / MAX DSPLAY SOURCE 1 alert and the illumination of both EEC ALTN lights indicate which QRH checklist should be used

A

a DEU or DPC has failed. Loss of the DEU/DPC results in a loss of signal to both EECs. the EEC ALTN lights illuminate and both EECs go to alternate mode.

The root cause loss of the DEU/DPC would lead to the selection of the Display Source checklist but either the DISPLAY SOURCE QRH or EEC ALTERNATE MODE checklist would address the issue.

Q

During flight below FL220 you observe a DSPLY SOURCE message on the primary flight display. Will the autopilot and/or flight director be affected?

A

Yes, Below FL220 available autopilot modes and FD commands will be affected depending on phase of flight and which AP is engaged.

DSPLYL SOURCE 1 or 2 indicates that DEU 1 or DEU 2 has failed.

Below FL 220 in a CLIMB or DESCENT with the failed side AP engaged:
-the FD pitch command bar is removed from both pilot displays
-the FD pitch command bar reappears at ALT ACQ
-the AP engages in CWS P
-LVL CHG, VNAV, and V/S are not available on the failed side A/P

If a DEU fails during LEVEL flight below FL 220 with the failed side AP engaged:
- climb or descent to a new altitude is only possible in CWS P
-initial climb or descent to a new MCP altitude is not possible in LVL CHG, VNAV or V/S with AP engaged

If a DEU fails on the opposite side as the engaged AP or while in manual F/D mode during climb or descent:
-the FD pitch command bar is removed from the Pilot Display on the FAILED side until ALT ACQ
-climb or descent is still possible in lvl change, VNAV, or V/S with A/P engaged

Q

When VNAV is engaged, when will VNAV automatically switch from VNAV PTH to VNAV SPD?

A

When the airspeed exceeds the top of the VNAV Speed Band.

When passing TOD and using high target speeds, VNAV may revert to VNAV SPD to prevent overspeed

Q

After performing the immediate action steps, QRC, and QRH for airspeed unreliable, what resource would you use to help determine pitch and thrust as you continue the flight?

A

Refer to the flight with Unreliable Airpseed table in Performance inflight chapter of the QRH.
