History degree - wider mechanisms - assimilation of sources and critical analysis - strong verbal and written communication

Business Analytics - advanced computational and statistical methods have provided me with the requisite skills to carry out complex quantitative analysis of financial models and real world data and develop a logical approach to problem-solving

Interpersonal skills
Working as a maths tutor to students of varying abilities, ages and both international and english students has required effective and flexible communication and I have found it v. rewarding to engage and motivate my pupils
Teamwork and leadership - working environments - e.g. Mishcon - drew together team, made plan, learnt to appreciate diversity of opinion, skills + value in checking each others work, brainstorming together

What financial analysis have you carried out on your course?

A

Business Analytics has provided broad framework to understand the internal and external environment that businesses operates in + logical, structured approach to problem-solving

Financial risk analysis module:
E.g. case studies - e.g. supply and demand of ordering and stocking products - considering risks and constraints, likelihood of scenarios and alternative options

Build intuition

+ use of state of the art decision support software, e.g. Excel SimVoi and Solver, + Python and R LPSolver

What is it? Company’s problems to be encountered in daily operations - e.g. changes in financial markets, legal liabilities or manmade disasters

What are they?

A

Integrity
Assistant manager stealing tips when running shifts, went to manager to report - was freisndly w/ assistant manager but felt it was not the right thing to be doing

Hospitality work - thinking outside the box
Achievement
Academic success + marketing analytics, going above and beyond what was required

Tutoring and working within diverse groups - understand variety in skillsets, experiences, ideas
Empathy
Tutoring - group lessons, one boy particulafrly struggling, found subtle ways to teach him w/o being on spot, e.g. asking questions I was sure he would know to build confidence - asking pupils to explain concepts as learning opp w/o patronising him

Specific UK:
Serve local and global needs of clients, working w/ colleagues across Europe, Middle East and Africa

EFC dept applies economic theory to offer economic advice to regulators and regulated companies
In the UK there are 4 offices, 3 in London, one in Stirling
