What is a Cold Environment?

A large body of ice that moves under its own weight

Ablation > Accumulation. When the Glacier shrinks.
What is Glacial Advance?
Accumulation > Ablation. When the glacier grows.

The zone where there are inputs into the glacial budget.

Zone where there are outputs into the glacial budget.
What is Basal Sliding?
Is When a Glacier moving over the bed with meltwater acting as a lubricant.
What is Erosion?
It is a wearing away and removal of material.
What is Abrasion?
When Rocks in the Glacier scrape over the land and wear it away.
What is Plucking?
When Meltwater at the base of the glacier freezers. Glacier moves, rock pulled up.
What is Freeze-Thaw
When water gets into cracks in the rocks which causes the rocks the freeze and expand.
What is a Corrie?
A deep arm chair shaped hollow found in the side of a mountain.
