What is friction?
A
A force that opposes the motion
The direction of frictional force is opposite to the direction of movement

A
- making surfaces rougher
- push surfaces together with more force
- move objects quickly

Decreasing friction
A
- makes surfaces smooth
- reducing amount of surfaces in direct contact with each other
- streamlining (travel through liquid - reduces drag)
- using lubricants (oil, waxing)

- Generate heat

- stops it moving in unwanted ways
