What was Adenauer’s greatest achievement in foreign policy?
Made West Germany indispensable to the West.
What economic problems did the CDU first face?
The fledgeling economy still faced difficulties and in 1949-50, it suffered a recession.
What was the main political issue facing the CDU in the beginning?
The FRG was still under the control of the ‘Occupation Statute’ and did not have sovereignty.

He wanted to gain the trust of Western powers to revise the restrictions of the ‘Occupation Statute’.
