Different personalities will arise due to conflict in the mind between, their unconscious and the pressure of society.
What did Freud state about consciousness?
He found that most of ou unconscious drives are based on sexuality and aggression.

What keeps all three systems balanced?
A healthy personality keeps all three systems in balance
Constant tension and conflict between these 3 systems would lead to what?
The constant conflict would lead to anxiety, and Freud believed there were defence mechanisms to protect the ego from this happening.
Explain what Freud found from his psychoanalysis
> Repression of unpleasant memories
> Freud believed that dreams would reveal these unpleasant memories, and thus these dreams need to be interpreted

Anna O suffered from paralysis of the limbs as well as damaged speech, and vision.
What did Freud conclude from this case?
Seduction Hypothesis - He believed that female hysteria was caused by repressed memories of sexual assaults suffered by patients when they were children.
What was the goal of the psychoanalysis therapy?
to convert repressed memories from their childhood into consciousness
