Foreign countries with monarchies like had before France did not want their people to be influenced and rebel.

The Rain of terror was a radical faze in France led by the Committee of Public Safty. The committee was dominated by Robespierre who believed that anyone who was a counter-revolutionary should be killed. They began killing people in all different classes by guillotine and almost 40,000 people were killed.
A lot of executions were held openly in towns. Why do you think this is?
They were killed in public settings to make an example out of the people trying to show that they felt anyone who was a counterrevolutionary was in the wrong.
You did an assignment on whether or not the Reign of Terror was justified. How did Robespierre say that it was?
Robespierre claimed that counterrevolutionaries needed to be killed in order to get rid of “corruption”.
