(1) Cahiers group - film critics turned directors: Claude Chabrol, Jean-Luc Godard, Jacques Rivette, Eric Rohmer and Francois Truffaut;
(2) “Left Bank” group: Chris Marker, Alain Resnais and Agnes Varda
What is Cinémathèque Française?
French film organization that holds one of the largest archives of film documents and film-related objects in the world. The collection emerged from the efforts of Henri Langlois and Lotte H Eisner in the mid 1930s
