Q

“Let him in!”

A

His unfailing way of accepting flaws and remaining friendly despite the circumstances, arguably makes Fred somewhat unbelievable as a character. He can certainly be seen as a symbol of good; he is used by Dickens as a role model to the reader, showing us how we should behave.

Q

‘cheerful voice’

A

adjective cheerful is direct opposite of what we get in Scrooge in stave 1 (‘solitary’)
‘he was all in a glow’ - ‘glow’ physically and metaphorically warm – opposite to cold Scrooge (pathetic fallacy in stave 1) + throughout novella, he is the metaphorical symbol of good
