positive language – juxtaposes “darkness” linked to Scrooge and arguably linked to exploitation capitalism encourages
Daughters are described as “beaming and lovable”
= direct antithesis to “darkness” of Scrooge
= symbolically – dark vs light – synonymous with good vs evil
= Adjective “lovable” - deserving love – opposite to misanthropic Scrooge who repels people in stave 1 and in death
