Frames & Models Flashcards
1
Q
Model of Human Occupation (MOHO) Frame of Reference
A
- Explains how occupations are motivated, patterned, & performed during everyday environments.
- Top-down approach
- IDs the individual occupation & interactions with the environment.
- Includes 3 subsets which impact performance capacity: Volition, Habituation, & Environment.
Volition: Personal causation, values, & interests.

Environment: Physical, social, & occupational.
2
Q
Biomechanical frame of reference
A
- Remedial approach that focuses on impairments that limit functional performance.
- Addresses the relationship between musculoskeletal function, impairments present, & performance of occupations.
3
Q
Sensory Integration frame of reference
A
- Explains how the interaction between the sensory systems (auditory, vestibular, proprioceptive, tactile, & visual) impacts learning & behavior.
- Identifies the perception, modulation, organization, & interpretation of sensory experiences to promote successful occupational engagement.
4
Q
Sensorimotor frame of reference
A
- Explains reorganization of the sensory & motor cortices of the brain.
- Encourages the client to receive systematic sensory information–the brain will reorganize, & motor function will return.
