Frame of Reference Flashcards
4 phases in QA
Preparation–>observation–>evaluation/diagnosis–>intervention–>repeat from observation
observing movement
4 things to consider
- FOR
- FBD
- Vectors
- QAA
egocentric FOR
(local) up/down
forward/backward (front/back)
left/right
planes of reference
Sagittal (splits left/right side), frontal (splits front/back), transverse (splits top/bottom)
keys to observation
- principal plane of movement
- see the entire movement
- closer for fine movements, farther for gross movements
- view from several planes
- multiple cameras
axis
x: intersects sagittal and transverse planes (front to back)
y: intersects frontal and transverse planes (left to right)
z: intersects frontal and sagittal planes (top to bottom)
global vs. egocentric axis
global: based on landmark in surrounding environment (corner of room)
egocentric: landmarks on body
parallel axis
lines throughout the body which show asymmetry, improper body alignment
