What is fractional distillation
A
Fractional distillation is used to separate “miscible” liquids, liquids that dissolve in each other mixing completely — ethanol and water.

How does fractional distillation work
A
Fractional distillation uses the fact that miscible liquids will have different boiling points to distil and collect the liquid with the lowest boiling point first.
