how many people live in a area per square kilometre.
what is the point system?
a test new immigrants need to pass with a score of 67. based off things like education, age and family.
what is a natural increase?
births - deaths
what are population pyramids used for?
they are used to predict a countries population in the future.
what is net migration?
immigration - emigration
what is population growth?
net migration + natural increase
what does a population pyramid do?
show the population sorted by age group. kids are 0-14, working adults are 15-64, and seniors are 65+
what is a dependency load?
the percent of seniors and kids in a population.
what stage is it when a population pyramid is wide at the top and narrow and the bottom (bottleneck)

what were the two issues introduced by the one child policy?
- there weren’t enough children to fill the workforce
- families wanted boys not girls because they were most useful, resulting in families putting up girls for adoption in first world countries, abortion or murder.
