how is an impression fossil formed?
when an animal dies and leaves its imprint in a substance like mud or sand. it will harden as the creature/ plant rots and will leave the print of the animal.
how is a preserved organism formed
a preserved organism could be formed if perhaps trapped in amber or something else that crystalises.
how does mineral replacement happen
when an animal dies in a substance like mud or sand and is quickly buried, the substance around it turns to stone. the skeleton dissolves but minerals in the water seep into the mould and crystalise.
