How do fossils form by gradual replacement?

A

(most common)
Teeth,bones,shells don’t decay easily and eventually are replaced by minerals as they decay forming rock like substances.

How do fossils form from casts and impressions?

A

Sometimes fossils form when an organism is buried in a soft calm material which hardens leaving a cast of its self which is called an impression

How do fossils form from preservation?

A

in amber as there is no oxygen or moisture so things can’t survive
In glaciers it is too cold to decay
peat bogs are to acidic
