This formula is C/I for Internal Wind due to Xu. This is for Excess LV Fire (2 Yang pathogens of Heat & Wind). COOLS the LV, extinguishes Interior Wind, increases the fluids & relaxes the sinews. Indications include: persistent high fever, dizziness, twitching/spasms, insomnia, nightmares - heat in xue.

For: Stroke, cerebral vascular trauma, encephalitis B, post-stroke
Based off of - Shao Yao Gan Cao Tang
This formula is for LV & KD YIN XU w. LV Yang rising - leading to Internal wind & treat the branch & the root. SEDATES the LV, extinguishes Internal Wind, nourishes the YIN & anchors the YANG. Indications include dizziness, vertigo, feverish sensation in head, H/A, facial asymmetry, wiry long forceful pulse, Red face & mental confusion.
Zhen Gan Xi Feng Tang/Sedate the LV & Extinguish Wind decoction
For: Patients @ risk of stroke, Post-stroke, HBP, Hypertension, Wind-stroke.
contains Huai Niu Xi & Zhe Shi to sedate LV, anchor yang & extinguish wind
This formula is used more commonly because easier to make & no endangered animal products. It’s for LV Yang rising stirring internal wind (W/O XU). CALMS the LV, extinguishes internal wind, clears heat, invigorates the xue & tonifies LV & KD’s. Indications include H/A, dizziness, vertigo, heat rushing to head, dream disturbed sleep, disturbed shen.
Tian Ma Gou Teng Yin/Gastrodia & Uncaria Uncaria decoction
For: Hypertension H/A’s, LV Qi Yu, emotional constraint & runs warm, post-stroke or about to have one, HBP, or LV Yang rising H/A.
This formula treats long-term Warm disease. Enriches the Yin, nourishes the xue, softens the LV & extinguishes Wind. Indications include rigid extremities, muscle spasms/twitches, weakness or paralysis of extremities, dry mouth, parched lips, may also have dizziness/vertigo.
