This formula regulates Qi, transforms phlegm, clears/cools the GB & harmonizes ST. This formula is for Phlegm/Heat causing a GB & ST disharmony.

Wen Dan Tang/Warm the GB Decoction
- Dizziness, vertigo, nausea/vomiting, insomnia, palpitations - due to rebellious ST qi, anxiety, interdeterminate gnawing hunger. Greasy, yellow tongue cat rapid slippery or wiry pulse. Sometimes used for Meniere’s Dz.
- Zhu Ru - clear heat
- Zhi Shi - Reg Qi
- Ban Xia - dry damp/expel phlegm
- Chen Pi - Harmonize ST
- Fu Ling - leach dampness
- Gan Cao - harmonize
- Sheng Jiang - Reg St/GB
This formula is for Phlegm-Fire Harrassing the Heart and SxS like Insomnia, shen distrubance, mania, etc.
Huang Lian Wen Dan Tang/Coptis Decoction to Warm the GB.
Most commonly used herb for Phlegm/Heat obsctructing LU. It clears Heat, transforms phlegm, directs rebellious Qi downward & stops coughing. For coughing of yellow, viscous sputum difficult to expectorate. Red tongue with greasy yellow coat & slippery rapid pulse. Bronchial condition Sequelae.
Qing Qi Hua Tan Wan/Clear the Qi & Transform Phelgm Pill
* Internal Heat brews down fluids - relative Xu of LU & unable to move fluids which decoct into Phlegm/Heat.
This formula Clears Heat, transforms phlegm, expands the chest & dissipates clumps. It’s used for focal distention w/wo nodules in the chest & epi that are painful when pressed.
Xiao Xian Xiong Tang/Minor Decoction for Pathogens stuck in Chest aka Minor Sinking into the chest decoction.
— Painful chest worse with pressure. Clears heat as well but mostly clears the clumping/binding of phlegm in chest.
For nodules on the neck that are firm & rubbery**. This formula Clears Heat & **transforms phlegm to soften & dissipate nodules. Scrofula Lymphodenopathy dure to Heat from excess LV fire or LV & KD yin xu heat.
Xiao Luo Wan/Reduce Scrofula Pill
— can be modified for Goiter by adding Xia Ku Cao or Kun Bu.
