Da Cheng Qi Tang

A

Herbs: Da huang, Mang Xiao, Hou Po, Zhi Shi

Severe Pattern of Yang Ming Organ Heat: severe constipation, abdominal pain which increases upon pressure, tidal fever.
T: dry yellow, or dry black coating with prickles
P: deep, full

Can Also tx:

  • Yangming organ syndrome causing diarrhea (foul smelling green watery diarrhea that doesn’t improve after)
  • Excess internal heat causing heat collapse (fever, constipation, cold limbs, etc)

Tiao Wei Cheng Qi Tang

A

Herbs: da huang, mang xiao, zhi gan cao

Stomach/Intestine Dry Heat pattern of YM Organ Syndrome: mild constipation without focal distention, but with irritability, fever, delirium (shi/zao). Also good for nosebleeds, swollen gums, and throat, and petechiae (subcutaneous bleeding)
T: yellow coat
P: slippery, rapid

Ma Zi Ren Wan

A

Herbs: hou ma ren, xing ren, bai shao, da huang, hou po, zhi shi

Spleen Bind/Restrained due to Heat Dryness: constipation with hard stool that is difficult to expel, normal to frequent urination
T: dry yellow coating
Pulse: rapid, floating, choppy

Administered as honey pills

*Formula includes Xiao CQT (DH, HP, ZS)

A
