Formulas Flashcards
The goal of this deck is to get you more comfortable with all of the formulas that you will need in order to pass the PMP Exam. This includes Earned Value Formulas, PERT, and Communications Channel.
What is the formula you use in order to find the EAD in Triangular Distribution?
EAD = (O + M + P) / 3
What is the PERT formula you use in order to find the EAD in Beta Distribution?
EAD = (O + 4M + P) / 6
What formula do you use to find the Standard Deviation (SD) of an activity?
SD = (P - O) / 6
What formula do you use to calculate the variance of an activity?
Variance = ((𝑃 − 𝑂) / 6) ^2
What formula do you use to calculate the range of an activity duration?
Range of Activity Duration = EAD ± 𝑆𝐷
What formulas can you use to calculate the Total Float?
Total Float = Late Start (LS) – Early Start (ES)
or
Total Float = Late Finish (LF) – Early Finish (EF)
How do you calculate the CV (Cost Variance)?
CV = EV−AC
How do you calculate the SV (Schedule Variance)?
SV = EV−PV
How do you calculate the Cost Performance Index (CPI)?
CPI= EV / AC
How do you calculate the Schedule Performance Index (SPI)?
SPI = EV / PV
How do you calculate the Budget at Completion (BAC)
Usually given to you, but BAC = Total activity cost estimates + Total contingency cost reserves
How do you calculate the Estimate to Complete (ETC)?
ETC = EAC−AC
How do you calculate the Earned Value (EV?)
EV = Actual % Complete x BAC
How do you calculate the Planned Value (PV)?
PV = Planned % Complete x BAC
How do you calculate the Estimate At Completion? (EAC)
EAC = BAC / CPI
