Impact: Justified US intervention in the Caribbean and Central America.

Impact: Beginning of US containment strategy during the cold war; first applied in Greece and Turkey.

Impact: Helped stop the spread of communism.

Impact: Increased US involvement in Middle Eastern Conflicts

Main Idea: US needs multiple military options(not just nuclear), including conventional forces
Impact: Shift from massive retaliation to a more adaptive cold war strategy.
Nixon Doctrine(1969)

Main Idea: US will help allies with aid and weapons, but they must fight their own wars
Impact: Led to Vietnamization - US pulled back from direct involvement

Main Idea: support anti-communist insurgencies globally
Impact: US backed rebels in Nicaragua, Afganistan, Angola etc

Main Idea: Preemptive strikes — U.S. can attack potential threats before they strike us.
Impact: Justified invasion of Iraq; shift toward counterterrorism-focused foreign policy.
Obama Doctrine(2009 - 2017)
President: Barack Obama
Main Idea: Multilateral diplomacy, drone warfare, “leading from behind,” cautious use of force.
Impact: Emphasis on alliances and targeted military action.
