-Henry II renewed Franco-Scottish alliance by sending 4000 troops
-Scots defeated at Battle of Pinkie (couldn’t occupy all of Scotland)

-Cemented alliance between France and Scotland
-Had to withdraw army south to deal with rebellions

-Garrisons costly failure
-Aristocracy= pro war
-Holding Boulogne was Henry’s legacy (costly)
-Paget advocated for peaceful policy to avoid economic disaster
-Ended war with France and withdrew garrisons
-Treaty of Boulogne (1550) =gave back Boulogne, was a humiliation but helped revenue
