Radial Nerve
Dorsum of the hand on the radial side of the third metacarpal as well as the dorsal surface of the thumb, 2nd and 3rd digit as far as the DIP joints.
Median Nerve
The radial portion of the palm and the palmar surfaces of the thumb, 2nd and 3rd and lateral 1/2 of the 4th digit.
Ulnar Nerve
The ulnar side of the dorsal and palmar surfaces and the 4th and 5th digit.
Tine Wrist Sign
+ Reproduction of Pain, tenderness and or paresthesia of the median nerve distribution area. (1st, 2nd 3rd and lateral half of the 4th digit.
IND: Median neuritis, possibly Carpel Tunnel Syndrome
Phalen Sign
Reproduction of Pain, and or Parenthesia of the median nerve distribution area. (1st, 2nd 3rd and lateral half of the 4th digit.
IND: Median neuritis, possibly Carpel Tunnel Syndrome.
Finkelstein
+ Pain distal to the radial styloid process.
IND: Stenosing tenosynovitis of the abductor policies longs and extensor policies braves tendons( De Quervain’s Disease)
Bunnel-Littler Test
+ If Flexion of the proximal interphalangeal joint cannot be achieved.
IND: Joint capsule contracture
+ If flexion of the proximal interphalyngeal joint can be achieved.
IND: Tight intrinsic muscles.
Retinacular Test
+ If flexion of the distal interphalyngeal joint cannot be achieved.
IND: Joint capsule contracture.
+ If flexion of the distal interphalyngeal joint can be achieved.
IND: Tight retinacular Ligament.
Allen Test
+ A delay of 10 or more seconds Evans states 5 for the reddish color to return to the hand.
IND: Radial or ulnar artery insufficiency. The artery being occluded by the examiner is not the artery being tested.
