Q

What does Newton’s First Law state?

A

A resultant force is required to change the motion of an object.
If the resultant force on a stationary object is zero (it has no resultant force) then it will remain stationary and if the resultant force on a moving object is zero it will continue moving at a constant speed.

Q

What is inertial mass?

A

A measure of how difficult it is to change the velocity of an object.

Inertial mass can be found using Newton’s Second Law (f=ma).

Q

What does Newton’s Third Law state?

A

When two objects interact, the forces they exert on each other are equal (in magnitude) and opposite (in direction).
For example, if an object is pushed, said object will push back against the push just as hard.
