displacement is the distance travveled without a change in direction or distance in a certain direction

a vector quanitity has both a dircection and a magnitude

a scalar quantity has a magnitude (size) but no direction

newtons third law of motion states that when two objects interact they exert equal and opposite forces on eachother

a contact force requires the objects to physically touch eachother for example friction whereas a non contact force happens without any contact fpor example gravity

newtons first law of motion states that if the forces acting on an object are equal (the resultant force is 0) then the object is either at rest (stationary) or will continue to move at the same speed and the same direction

the resultant force is the sum of all forces acting on an object

moment = force x perpendicular distance from pivot
how do you multiply forces
a lever can be used to multiply force as the further distance from pivot the higher the output force a
and gears can be used as a full rotation of a large gear will turn a smaller gear multiple times
how do you calculate the moment on a gear
moment = force x gear wheel radius

the center of mass of an object is the point at which it mass can be thought of as being concentrated
