2
Q

how do you do an F = ma calculation with vectors?

A

keep them in vector form and just use two lines of working to establish F, m and a for both horizontal and vertical components

Q

what is Fmax?

A

limiting frictional force, and if the object is said to be on the point of moving it is said to be in limiting equilibrium

Q

equation linking Fmax and μ (coefficient of friction)?

A

Q

how do you find friction acting on a body on a slope?

A

resolve forces into parallel and perpendicullar to slope, resolve the perpendicullar to find R first and then use this value multiplied by μ to give max friction. this can then be equated into the parallel resolution to find the frictional force acting on body as a result of other forces
