Fore, mid and hindfoot
What is the Silver-Skiels Test?
Gastroc tightness - if tight will lead to forefoot callosity
Differentiate between a bunion and arthritic big toe?
Angle at presentation.
Bunion goes laterally, with the lump you see on the medial side. - Hallux Valgus
Arthritis - Hallux Rigid - lump on top.
What is Morton’s neuroma and the test for it?
Compressive neuropathy of the interdigital nerve around the transverse intermetatarsal ligament.
Test - Mulder’s Click - push on the plantar aspect of the foot and squeeze the bones together - balloting the nerve
Non-congenital cause for a flat foot? and treatment?
Tibialis posterior weakness
Rx:
If flexible - bring FDL up through the foot.
Inflexible - fusion into a better position.
