Abiotic factors:
the nonliving parts of an ecosystem.
Biosphere:
any area in which organisms live
Biodiversity:
the variety of life in the world or in a particular habitat or ecosystem.
Biotic Factors:
all of the living or once-living in an ecosystem
Carnivores:
eat herbivores and other consumers
Consumers:
organisms that cannot make their food. Consumers obtain food by eating producers and other consumers
Decomposers:
Organisms that break down waste and dead organisms and return the raw materials to the environment
Ecology:
the study of how living organisms interact with each other and with their environment
Ecosystem:
all the living and non-living things in one place.
Herbivores:
eats only plants and other producers
Omnivores:
eats producers and consumers
Producers:
organisms that use an outside energy source, such as the Sun, and produce their own food
Scavengers:
is a carnivore that feeds on dead bodies of dead organisms.
