What indicator due you use to test for lipids?
You use ethanol to test for lipids.
What indicator do you use to test for proteins?
You use biuret solution to test for proteins.
What indicator do you use to test for starch?
You use iodine to test for starch.
What does a positive result of starch look like?
If starch is present the solution will turn blue-black.
What does a positive result of sugar look like?
If sugar is present the solution will turn from blue to brick red.
What does a positive result of protein look like?
If protein is present the solution will change from blue to a purple or lilac colour.
What does a positive result of lipids look like?
If lipids are present in the solution it will turn cloudy white.
