St. John’s contraindications
Tricyclic antidepressants, monoamine oxidase inhibitors, SSRIs
Ephdra
- Adverse effects: Hypertension, arrhythmias, nervousness, tremor, insomnia, tachycardia
- Used for: Asthma, nasal congestion
Milk Thistle
Used for: Hepatoprotectant in patients with viral hepatitis as well as alcohol cirrhosis

Contraindications: Alcohol, Bitter orange, grapefruit, 5-hydroxytryptophan, kava, ma huang ephdra, St. John’s Warts, Tryptophan, Valerian

Contraindications: Alcohol, Bitter orange, caffeine, fermented foods, 5 hydrosytryptophan, ma huang ephdra, natural licorice, St. John’s wort, Tryptophan
SSRIs
Contraindications: Alcohol, Asian ginseng, bilberry, fish oil, foods that reduce platelet function, garlic, ginkgo biloba, 5-hydroxytryptophan, omega-3 fatty acids, St. John’s wort, tryptophan, vitamin C, grapefruit, caffeine
