What is crop yield?
Crop yield is a measure of the amount of a crop that is harvested per unit area of land. It reflects the amount of seed or grain generated by the plants.
What are the basic resources for crops to grow?

- Nitrogen in the soil
Define food security
Food security exists when all people at all times have physical and economic access to sufficient, safe and nutritious food to meet their dietary needs and food preferences for an active health life.
What are the four dimensions of food security?
Availability, access, utilisation and stability.
What does a country need to have to be considered ‘food secure’?
There needs to be a consistent supply of healthy food and it needs to be accessible to all.
