Very easy
E.g Getting rid of him will be a piece of cake.
GO/SELL LIKE HOT CAKES
Sell quickly
E.g The new game is apparently selling like hot cakes.
THE ICING ON THE CAKE
Something that makes a good situation even better.
E.g I was just content to see my daughter in such a stable relationship but a grandchild, that really was the icing on the cake.
NOT MY CUP OF TEA
Not the type of thing you like.
E.g Sitting for hours on motorways is not my cup of tea.
COUCH POTATO
A lazy person who watches a great deal of television.
E.g He’s turned into a real couch potato since he subscribed to the sports channel.
HOT POTATO
A problem, situation, etc. that is difficult to deal with and causes a lot of disagreement.
E.g The abortion issue is a political hot potato in the United States.
LIKE TWO PEAS IN A POD
Very similar.
E.g The twins are like two peas in a pod.
BE FULL OF BEANS
To have a lot of energy and enthusiasm.
E.g I’ve never known anyone be so full of beans before breakfast.
AS COOL AS A CUCUMBER
Very calm or very calmly, especially when this is surprising.
E.g She walked in as cool as a cucumber, as if nothing had happened.
FOOD FOR THOUGHT
Something that makes you think carefully.
E.g Thank you for your suggestion – it gave us a lot of food for thought.
BE ON THE BREADLINE
To be very poor.
E.g If I don’t make a big sale this week, my family will be on the breadline.
IN A NUTSHELL
In a brief or short summary of something.
E.g “What went wrong?” “In a nutshell, everything.”
