What are the macronutrients?
Carbohydrates, Protein, Fat, Vitamins and Minerals
Food groups?
Vegetables & Fruits, Proteins, whole grains. Water should be your drink of choice.
Nutrients we need?
Fibre, vitamins & minerals.
Importance of breakfast?
Can replenish energy, have a better attitude, more attentive, better physical performance, can help
prevent overeating in the day, and you are less likely to suffer from depression and anxiety.
Define Breakfast
A meal eaten in the morning, the first of the day.
Define calories
A unit of energy, often used to express the nutritional value of foods,
Define Fat
A fatty substance made from animal or plant products, used in cooking.
Define Fortified
Increase the nutritional value of (food by adding vitamins or minerals.
Define Glucose
A simple sugar which is an important energy source in living organisms and is a component of many carbohydrates.
Define Insulin
A hormone produced in the pancreas which regulates the amount of glucose in the blood.
