- avoid contaminating food with food allergens
- tell customers about ingrediants they are serving them
- make sure the menu show all the ingrediants they contain

Serious and possibly life-threatening reaction to a certain food.

By the body reacting to something in the food
What is a severe allergic reaction called and what does it do
Anaphylaxis causes death
What should a person do who is allergic to some sort of food
Avoid eating the food. Read food labels to identify the ingrediants used to make the food
5 symptoms that someone has a food allergy
Mouth, tongue and throat swell , person can’t breath, speak or swallow properly, wheezy, stomach pain and blood pressure drops
What is a food intolerance and when does it happen
Happens when something in a certain food makes someone feel unwell most of the time but it is not as life threatening as a food allergy can be.
5 symptoms of food intolerence
Muscle, joint aches and pains, nausea, constant tiredness or weakness, diarrhoea, eczema and dry skin conditions
What is lactose intolerance and why does it occur
People who have lactose inolerance can’t absorb and bread down lactose in their body, so the bacteria in their large intestine break down instead
What is a coeliac disease
Coeliac disease is a condition where your immune system attacks your own tissues when you eat gluten. It stops you from taking in nutrients.
What is coeliac disease caused by
Immune system not tollerating gluten
What happens if someone has coeliac disease
They will not have enough nutrients going into their body, they will have no energy, lose weight and become ill,
