LRPC RESPONSIBILITIES
TO THE SQUADRON CO :
1. EXERCISING COMMAND OF THE AIRCRAFT AND ALL PERSONS ONBOARD
2. SAFE EXECUTION OF FLIGHT
TO LRPCC
1. TASK ASSIGNMENT OF CREW PILOTS AND FES
2. TRAINING CATEGORIZATION, QUALIFICATION, AND ADVANCEMENT OF PILOTS AND FES ON THE CREW
AIRCRAFT CAPTAIN
DESIGNATED FOR FLIGHT, SHALL BE EITHER IN THE RIGHT OR LEFT SEAT FOR ALL TAKEOFFS AND LANDINGS
COREX CREW
SAME AS OPERATIONAL, INDIVIDUAL TACT CELL POSTIONS MAY BE VACANT AT DISCRETION OF SQUADRON CO WHILE MAINTAINING MIN CREW.
B CAT FE
MAY REPLACE A CAT ON PPF THAT ORIGINATES AND TERMINATES AT WING/BASE W/ CP-140 MAINT SERVICES ARE AVAILABLE W/ NO PLANNED ENGINE SHUTDOWNS,
EMERGENCIES AC
IF TIME PERMITS, AC SHALL OCCUPY LEFT SEAT WHILE EMERGENCY CONDITON EXISTS. AC SHALL PERFORM LANDING UNLESS CIRCUMSTANCES DICTATE OTHERWISE. IN ACTUAL EMERGENCIES, THIRD PILOT OR SECONDARY FE SHALL NOT BE ALLOWED ON FLIGHT DECK
MAX/MIN CREW AND PAX
- OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS ABD AVAILABILITY OF CRASH POSITIONS AND SAFETY/SURVIVAL EQUIPMENT WILL DICTATE NUMBER OF PERSONNEL CARRIED ON CP-140 FLIGHTS
- 1 CAD RESERVES RIGHT FOR LRPSET TO UTILIZE 2 SEATS FOR NO-NOTICE CHECKRIDES OR MONITORING DUTIES, AS REQ.
TAXI
MIN CREW FOR TAXI IS 2 QUALIFIED CP-140 PILOTS, QUALIFIED FE, AND ONE OTHER QUALIFIED CREW MEMBER. AT DISCRETION OF CO OR FAO, BOTH PILOTS MAY BE FOS IF WITH A CAT FE AND MIN PERSONNEL ON AIRCRAFT
MIN CREW FOR FLIGHT
AIRCRAFT COMMANDER, A CAT FE OR B CAT CERTIFIED IN ACCORDANCE WITH REFERENCE, AND ONE OTHER QUALIFIED CREW MEMEBER
FOURTH CREWMEMBER
PREVIOUSLY QUALIFIED MEMBERS CAN SIT FOURTH BEFORE REGAINING CATEGORY IF TRAINING, ALSE, WET AND DRY EGRESS ARE REGAINED. WIHTOUT A CATEGORY, MUST PERFORM FOURTH CREWMEMEBER EVERY 90 DAYS
THREE ENGINE FERRY TAKEOFF
CONSIDERED ABNORMAL PROCEDURE. APPROVAL FROM WCOMD REQ UNLESS AUTHORITY HAS BEEN DELEGATED TO SUBORDINATE.
IFR
PILOTS ARE ENCOURAGED TO CONDUCT, TO MAX EXTENT POSSIBLE, ALL ENROUTE FLIGHTS UNDER IFR
IFR OUTSIDE CANADIAN DOMESTIC AIRSPACE
FIXED WING FLIGHTS OUTSIDE CDA SHOULD BE UNDER IFR, UNLESS OPERATIONAL OR OPERATIONAL TRAINING REQUIREMENTS DICTATE VFR. FAO SHALL AUTHORIZE THESE VFR FLIGHTS
TAKEOFF WEIGHT
WEIGHT SHALL NOT EXCEED THAT WHICH WILL PERMIT THE AIRCRAFT, GIVEN CUREENT TEMP AND PRESSURE ALTITUDE, TO EXPERIENCE AN ENGINE FAILURE AT V1, TAKEOOF, AND MAINTAIN CLIMB GRADIENT THAT WILL ENSURE TERRAIN AND OBSTACLE CLEARANCE
FUEL REQUIREMENTS
- FUEL TO DESTINATION
- PLUS 5% OF PLANNED FUEL TO DESTINATION
- FUEL FOR INSTRUMENT APPROACH
- MIN DIVERSION FUEL W/ FUEL FOR FLIGHT FROM MDA/DH TO ALTERNATE AT REALISTIC ALTITUDE, FUEL FOR APPROACH AT ALTERNATE, FUEL FOR 30 MIN OF HOLDING (AT HOLDING CONSUMPTION RATE), UNUSABLE FUEL OR 5000 LBS FOR CP-140, AND ALLOWANCE SHALL BE MADE FOR FUEL USE FOR TAXI, RUN-UP, AND TAKEOFF ROLL
FUEL NOTE
FOR FLIGHTS STARTING AND ENDING IN CONTINENTAL US OR CANADIAN SOUTHERN AIRSPACE, 5% FUEL MAY BE WAIVED. DOES NOT APPLY TO EXTENDED OVERWATER FLIGHTS (MORE THAN 50NM)
THREE-ENGINE CLIMB
IN VMC IS 300FPM OR AS REQUIRED TO MAINTAIN OBSTACLE/TERRAIN CLEARANCE, WHICHEVER IS GREATER
TAKEOFF BELOW VMCA
DO NOT DO IT UNLESS 1 CAD APPROVES IT
ETP
EXPERIENCING A CRITICAL EMERGENCY OR 2 ENGINE SHALL NOT OVERFLY ETP. IF THREE ENGINE, SERIOUSLY CONSIDER GOING TO ETP AIRPORT
OVERFLYING ETP AERODROME ON 3 ENGINE
SHALL NOT BE DONE UNLESS:
- FLIGHT TO SUITABLE AERODROME CAN BE CONTINUED WITH SUFFICENT OXYGEN AND IFR FUEL RESERVES AND
- FLIGHT AT AN ALTITUDE MEETING ALL MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND OBSTACLE CLEARANCECAN BE MAINTAINED SHOULD ANOTHER ENGINE FAIL
