FM Flashcards
Considerations for -40C engine start
I’d over an hr has pass then maintence shihkd accomplish heating of the hydro mechanical unit
If 3 hours or more do not start engine maintence must accomplish started servicing
Check fm for oil requirements
When do you need wing anti ice on the ground
When icing conditions exist or are anticipated…. Unless he airplane is or will be protected by the application of type two or type four fluid
When should you do an engine run up?
In cold weather operations, as soon as practical after engine start
When engine antis is required and OAT IS 3°C OR BELOW
-NG 70% till normal indications up to 30 seconds no greater than every 30 minutes
-MAX 50% Tell normal indications are met up to 30 seconds no greater than every 60 minutes
If wing any ice is needed for taxi, what considerations must be taken.
Both engines must be running and APU bleed air switch is off
What must oil temperature be in a max prior to takeoff?
31C
Should wing snit ice be used above?FL350?
No
Could cause a bleed trip off and possible loss of cabin pressure
If a cowl valve open light is illuminated with engines idle what can be done?
Position a few bleed air switch off and increase thrust to a maximum of 30% N1
If flap contamination is suspected after landing?
Do not retract the flaps past 15
If flap contamination is suspected after landing?
Do not retract the flaps past 15
How should you exit ice crystal icing
Laterally
Crosswind landing on a slippery runway. What should you consider
Reverse thrust adds to the cross wind component. If control is being lost put reversers down until direction control is regained and d agga again
Turbulence and flaps
Delay flap extension. The clean configuration can withstand higher gust
If windshear is suspected after V1 but before rotation what is the procedure?
Continue to accelerate until Vrmax or wait until 2000 ft remain on the runway and initiate rotation
When in the air reduce pitch to gain airspeed
