Fluroscopy Flashcards
Fluoroscopy
Visualization of body parts in motion by projecting x-ray images on a luminous fluorescent screen
Cineradiography
Recording of fluoroscopy images
Ultrasonography
Imaging of deep body structures by recording the echoes of sound wave pulses that are above the range of human hearing
Used mostly for
Viewing solid organs of the abdomen and soft tissues where the signal is not stopped by intervening bone or air
Carotid ultrasonography
Sound waves to image the cartid artery to detect an obstruction that cound cause an ischemic stroke
echocardiography
Used to evaluate the structures and motion of the heart
Doppler echocardiogram
Measures the speed and direction of the blood flow within the heart
Fetal ultrasound
Noninvasive procedure used to image and evaluate fetal development during pregnancy
Transesophageal echocardiography
Evaluate heart structures
Performed from inside the esophagus
